Have a Problem? We Can Solve It!

Having a problem with using the CREB iFax Service? Below you will find a simple step-by-step guide to troubleshooting some of our most frequently asked questions. While we welcome the opportunity to assist you over the phone or by email, if you follow our instructions carefully, you will often find it possible to resolve problems you encounter without spending any more of your valuable time than is necessary.

TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD:

If you need to change your password:

  • Log onto your CREB iFax portal.
  • Click on the tab "My Account" in the main navigation bar. This should open up onto a page with fields containing all of your user information and settings.
  • Change your password in the field marked "Password". Do not forget to retype your new password in the field right below, marked "Retype Password".
  • After making changes, you MUST click "SAVE SETTINGS", located at the bottom of the page, in order to save your changes. Your new password should be saved.

TO CHANGE YOUR EMAIL:

If you need to change the primary email address associated with your iFax account (where you both SEND and RECEIVE faxes from):

  • Log onto your CREB iFax portal.
  • Click on the tab "My Account" in the main navigation bar. This should open up onto a page with fields containing all of your user information and settings.
  • Click in the field marked "Contact Email (Empl.ID)". Clear the contents of the field. Enter the email account you wish to use.
  • Remember to click "SAVE SETTINGS".
  • Send a test fax using the new email now associated with your CREB iFax account. You can send this test fax to yourself, using the same e-mail address or any other at your discretion. Wait a few minutes before you check your inbox.

INBOUND FAX NOT WORKING:

This is often a very simple fix, so before calling please:

  • Double check that whoever is sending you the expected fax is using the right number.
  • Check your Junk Mail or SPAM Folders to make sure it hasn't been diverted there. Computers can be finicky, and this can happen even if you're receiving the fax from an accepted user or one who has sent you faxes many times before.
  • If you continue to have problems, please contact us, so we can figure out where the problem is.

OUTBOUND FAX NOT WORKING:

This is often a very simple fix, so before calling please:

  • Double check the number you're trying to send it to. If you do not get a high-pitched "shriek" fax tone when you call it, then this is NOT a fax number. In that case, you will need to double check with the source for the right number.
  • Double check how you're sending the fax out. Please note the following options:
    • If you are going directly from your CREB iFax home page, you can TRY INSTEAD to send it via the email account associated with your CREBIFAX ACCOUNT:
      • Create a NEW EMAIL.
      • in the "To" address line, create the address using the FAX NUMBER@crebifax.ca, e.g.: 1234567890@crebifax.ca
      • Send it to yourself with the Subject: Test Fax.
    • If you are going directly from the email account associated with your CREBIFAX ACCOUNT, you can try instead to go directly through your CREB iFax home page.
  • If you continue to have problems, please contact us, so we can figure out where the problem is.

In the very first blank box from the LEFT, type the toll-free number you wish to add. Tab over to the next box, where you see the word "Any".
